Need money today without a loan application? Bring your valuables into any Cash Stop pawn shop and walk out with cash in minutes. Our experienced staff appraise your items in front of you, explain your loan clearly, and store your goods safely until you're ready to reclaim them.
Pawnbroking is available in store at every Cash Stop branch - just drop in.
Pawnbroking is one of the simplest ways to borrow money. You bring in something of value - jewellery, gold, a phone, a laptop - and we lend you cash against it on the spot. Your item stays safely with us as security for the loan, and the moment you repay, it's back in your hands.
There are no credit checks, no bank statements and no waiting. Because the loan is secured by your item, your credit history doesn't matter and your credit score is never affected - even if you decide not to repay. That makes pawnbroking a genuine option when a regular loan isn't the right fit.
In NSW you have three months to redeem your item - and as long as you keep your monthly interest up to date, we'll keep holding it for you beyond that. We'll even send you a courtesy SMS reminder before your loan is due, so nothing catches you by surprise.
Cash Stop has been a trusted, licensed pawnbroker and second-hand dealer for over 26 years, and it's still one of the most popular services in our stores.

Wondering how much pawnbrokers charge? At Cash Stop it's simple: your pawn loan is charged monthly interest on the amount you borrow, and we agree the full terms with you upfront - before you accept a cent. Getting an appraisal is completely free, and if you decide not to go ahead it costs you nothing. We keep our rates sharp against other pawnbrokers, and customers who shop around usually find we can match or beat the offer.
No hidden fees, no fine print surprises - and no gotchas if life gets in the way. We send courtesy SMS reminders before your loan is due and work with you on extensions, rather than rushing to keep your item. Just ask our staff to walk you through the numbers - they'll tell you exactly what you'd repay and when, so you can decide with confidence.
From your door to cash in hand in four simple steps
No appointment needed - just drop into your nearest Cash Stop with the item you'd like to pawn and a current photo ID like a driver's licence or passport.
Our experienced staff will inspect, test and value your item on the spot - gold is priced against the live gold market rate, and electronics against the current second-hand market. Everything is explained as we go, and appraisals are always free.
Happy with the offer? We'll agree the loan terms with you clearly, store your item securely, and hand you your cash on the spot. Most visits take around 30 minutes, depending on how many items you bring.
In NSW you have three months to redeem your item, and repaying any time within that term brings it straight back to you. Need longer? Keep your monthly interest up to date and we'll keep holding your item - with a courtesy SMS reminder before each due date.
Items tested and valued in front of you, with every offer explained before you decide.
Your items are stored securely for the life of your loan, ready and waiting when you reclaim them.
Life happens. Keep your interest up to date and we keep holding your item - with courtesy SMS reminders before every due date.
If it holds its value, chances are we can lend against it or buy it
Gold, silver and jewellery are our most popular items by far, followed by phones - but as you can see, the list runs much wider. (Looking to sell your gold instead of borrowing against it? See our gold buying service.) Not sure about your item? Just bring it in - our staff will tell you on the spot, with no obligation either way.
A few things we can't take - so you don't carry them in for nothing
And one honest pointer: older electronics and well-worn tools are accepted, but they generally attract smaller offers than gold, jewellery and recent tech - worth knowing before you make the trip.
Pre-loved treasures from our counters, delivered Australia-wide
Not everything stays behind the counter. Quality pre-owned jewellery, watches, electronics, tools and collectables from our stores are listed on the official Cash Stop Pawnbroking eBay store - checked by our staff, priced to move and shipped Australia-wide.
No item to pawn? Apply in store for a small loan up to $2,000 or a personal loan up to $8,000, assessed the same day.¹

A pawnbroker lends you cash against something you own, like jewellery, gold or electronics. You leave your item with us as security, walk out with cash on the spot, and reclaim your item when you repay the loan - in NSW you have three months, and longer if you keep your interest up to date. If you choose not to repay, we simply keep the item - it never affects your credit score.
It depends on what your item is worth. We test and value it in front of you and tell you the loan amount on the spot. There's no set minimum or maximum, and for larger loans we can pay part in cash and the rest by bank transfer. Pawn loans are separate from our small and personal loans, so the $2,000 and $8,000 limits on those loans don't apply.
Pawn loans are charged simple monthly interest on the amount you borrow, agreed with you upfront before you accept the loan. There are no appraisal fees and no hidden charges - if you decide not to go ahead, it costs you nothing.
Gold and jewellery are our most popular items, followed by phones - and we also take silver, laptops, tablets, watches, gaming consoles, cameras, collectables, trading cards and power tools. If you're not sure about an item, bring it in - our staff will tell you on the spot whether we can lend against it.
Yes - sought-after collectables and trading cards are among the items we lend against, alongside gold, jewellery and electronics. Like everything we appraise, they're valued in front of you against the current market, with the offer explained before you decide.
Talk to us - as long as you keep your monthly interest up to date, we'll keep holding your item, and we send courtesy SMS reminders so due dates don't sneak up on you. If you choose not to repay at all, we keep the item and the debt is settled. Pawn loans are never reported to credit agencies, so your credit score is not affected.
Just the item and a current photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport. You'll also sign a statement confirming the item is yours. As a licensed pawnbroker and second-hand dealer we're required to verify the identity of everyone we lend to.
Yes. If you don't need the item back, you can sell it to us instead. We test and value it in front of you and make you an offer, and if you accept, you're paid on the spot - in cash, or by bank transfer for larger amounts. There's no loan to repay and no interest. Selling gold or jewellery? See our gold buying service.
There isn't much in it. Our pawn loan offer is often slightly higher than our offer to buy the same item, but you'll pay interest if you want the item back. Pawning makes sense if you want your item back; selling makes sense if you don't, as there's nothing to repay. Ask for both offers and our staff will explain the difference before you decide.
Bring the item and a current photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport. NSW law also requires you to sign a statement confirming the item belongs to you and that you're entitled to sell it - the same as when you pawn an item.
Sometimes. Items we buy are held for 14 days before they can go on sale. After that, if the item is still available, you can ask to buy it back at a fair price we agree with you, which takes our time and costs into account. If you think you might want your item back, pawning it is usually the better choice.
